About Us
The Petrochem Forum Organizing Committee is made up of representatives from labour, management and government from the Petrochem Sector working together to improve the health and safety of workers in the province of Ontario. The committee has a long history of producing a high quality health and safety seminars at a minimal cost and this year marks the fifteenth annual event. This committee has never requested or received any government funding. All funds needed to deliver the Forum are generated from delegate registration. We are a non-profit organization and any excess funds generated are either turned back to the community or used to keep registration costs as low as possible. Over the years we have donated over $3000 to Lambton College for scholarships that recognize academic excellence in the field of health and safety. In addition, in 2006 we donated $1000 to sponsor Rob Ellis so that he could deliver a young worker awareness session to students in Sarnia. In 2007, $1000 was donated to the Victims of Chemical Valley. In 2008, $500 was donated to Victim Services of Sarnia. In 2010, $1000 was donated to the St. Joseph's Hospice Caring Hearts Childrens Program, and in 2011, $1000 was donated to the Inn of The Good Shepard residence fund.
Each year the committee strives to produce a seminar which deals with the issues of the day and attempts to obtain speakers who are most suited to deliver a presentation that will allow delegates to take away useful information that they can use to improve health and safety in their workplace. The Petrochem Forum Seminar provides an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and information. It is also an excellent forum to network with key players in this industry.
